Construction Manager/Inspector
Hakanson Anderson Associates has been providing Engineering and Land Surveying services to municipalities and private enterprises for the past 45 years. Hakanson Anderson is a 100% Employee-Owned Company. We are seeking a seasonal (construction season) Construction Manager/Inspector to observe and manage the construction of engineering projects.
Typical Job Responsibilities
Interpret plans and specifications. Keeps accurate records of daily construction activities. Reviews cut sheets. Keeps accurate records of quantities. Prepares Pay Estimates and Project Review Reports. Inspects and maintains records of grading operations, placement and handling of aggregate base, bituminous base course, bituminous wear course, concrete curb and gutter, concrete paving, sanitary sewer, forcemain and appurtenances, lift stations, watermain, wells, water storage tanks, storm sewer, traffic control devices, pavement markings, traffic signs, drainage improvements, and other structures. Checks materials to ensure conformance to specifications and checks for SWPPP conformance.
Position Requirements
- 10 years or more of similar experience
- The ability to keep accurate records of daily construction activities
- Ability to effectively communicate with Engineers, Contractors and Community
- Understanding of the standards of engineering practice
- The ability to interpret construction plans and specifications
- The ability to quickly identify non-conforming work
- Ability to manage 4-5 Construction Observers
- MnDOT Certifications for Grading and Base, Concrete Field (I & II), Bituminous (I & II), Erosion Control Inspector / Installer a plus
- Understanding of the SWPPP standards and their application to construction projects a plus
- Must be physically able to work long hours, lift and carry heavy loads, and work in inclement weather
- A valid MN Driver’s License
